The following tools are specific to Search and Rescue and are hosted by BCSARA as a resource for SAR teams in BC and beyond.
The Response Assessment and Decision making Support tool is designed to be a risk assessment tool to allow SAR managers and leaders to determine the approriate responses to the varying conditions we see during a SAR task. It is a first of its kind tool in the world of Search and Rescue.
The RADeMS tool is available as a app download for your iPhone, iPad or Android device.
RADeMS is also available to be installed on a desktop computer for offline use in a command post.
The BCSARA SAR Field Guide contains references and tools for use by SAR members in the field. It’s an essential tool for SAR members in BC and is available for your Android and iOS devices
The Range Rings tool created by SAR member Michael Coyle is designed to assist SAR management by applying Rober Koester’s Lost Person Behaviour probability ranges to a simple map for visualisation. This can be used for planning prior to a SAR response, or to present to requesting agencies or the public.
