BCSARA Member Becomes Canadian Forces SAR Tech.

Jun 19 2008 - 22:00

Taken from the Canadian Forces School of Search and Rescue Graduation Brochure:

Private Mike Neilson is a SAR Tech direct entry candidate. He spent 12 years as a professional firefighter in Port Coquitlam, BC. He also volunteered
with the Coquitlam Search and Rescue team for 7 years. Mike's interest in rescue work as well as a love for the outdoors and adventure caused him
to pursue a career as a SAR Tech. He looks forward to joining his new unit, the Tuskers of 413 Sqn in Greenwood, Nova Scotia. Mike would like to
thank his wife Annie and his sons Eddie and Johnny for their infinite patience and unwavering support. He would also like to thank all the many friends
and family who have helped him on the way to achieving this outstanding career. Rescue!!

PEP Southwest Regional Manager Ian Cunnings also adds that:

Mike has since been promoted to Corporal and was one of two graduates from the Canadian Forces direct entry program and to my knowledge is the first BC SAR volunteer to join the SAR Tech ranks.

Congratulations Corporal Neilson from your BCSARA family!
