Traveling in excess of 18,500kms and reaching 10,050 outdoor enthusiasts face-to-face, the Summer 2017 BC AdventureSmart Teams had an exceptional outreach season from May – August delivering the SAR prevention message. Their primary objective is to help reduce the number and severity of search-and-rescue (SAR) incidents in the province, by reminding everyone to follow the 3 T’s; Trip Plan, Train and Take Essentials. The outreach teams presented the main programs sought after for summer activities, such as; the Hug a Tree & Survive Program, the PaddleSmart program and the Survive Outside Program.

The BC AdventureSmart program demonstrates best practices in creative curriculum development, interactive public education, industry partnership building, community outreach and provincial SAR prevention.

In addition to the Final Report, the Final Summer 2017 Report Presentation is available for viewing below (Prezi format).

BC AdventureSmart is looking forward to their 27th outreach season of the program in our province and working with everyone again (bring on the snow!).
